Peacebuilding and conflict prevention are at the heart of our mission. With support from Act Change Transform (ACT) and the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), KEPHRA advanced the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 by engaging women and youth in peacebuilding and leadership.
This work led to the Kilifi County Peace Building and Conflict Management Policy (2019) and strengthened women’s political participation in Kisumu and Kilifi counties. Building on this success, KEPHRA is currently supporting similar initiatives in Kwale, Isiolo, and Bungoma counties, where we have facilitated the drafting of:

•Three County Peace Building and Conflict Management Policies (2023)
•Three Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Bills (2023)

Once enacted, these frameworks will institutionalize equal participation of women and youth in peace and political processes at the county level.
